About UsThe Air Force Academy Foundation was established in 1954 to provide the Air Force Academy with facilities that could not be funded with appropriated money. Over the years, they have gifted to the Academy: Falcon Stadium, the Eisenhower Blue Course, Farish Memorial Recreation Area, and the Barry Goldwater Visitor's Center.
The Air Force Academy Foundation continues to support the Academy in a variety of ways. Since 1985, the AFAF has provided annual scholarships to cadets through The Fund for American Studies' International and Washington, D.C. programs conducted by Georgetown University. The number of these scholarships increased from 5 to 7 cadets with the graduating Class of 2007.
Beginning in the Spring of 2006, the AFAF began funding participation in the Colorado Leadership Alliance (now SLE - Student Leadership Experience) for six outstanding cadets from the USAFA's Center for Character Development. This funding is currently scheduled to last through the Spring of 2009.
